Jizō - The Zen Den is a 2013 International Serenity Airstream! She was purchased in August of 2018 from a great couple, who had loved her well, Bob and Cheryl, in Littleton Colorado. We had already lost two airstreams for not moving quickly enough so we headed up from Austin to Colorado after the Maintenance Man discovered her on Craig's list. What a perfect find! Jizō is a front bedroom (apparently a favorite feature of most "airstreamers - since you typically back into the best view with your dinette facing outward). Measuring 25 feet and approximately 154 square feet, with three sleeping areas and a queen size bed, she fits a couple wonderfully and perhaps an added small kiddo as well. Twenty five feet also is popular for maneuvering tricky terrain and hard to get to, free boondocking (aka dry camping) spots! She was luckily equipped with the addition of a rear camera, a Direct TV Satellite dish and two Suzuki generators were purchased for a song for dry camping fun! Jizō is super photogenic and doesn't mind posing in some of the most beautiful areas in the USA. Morning, noon or night, you have to agree she has got no bad angles!. Lets not forget our awesome tow vehicle, whose been lovingly named Chibi, a friend to Jizō. A comfortable pearl white Ford 150 Pickup. The pair make a great team and towing is a dream!

Kitchen gets a face lift from drab burnt orange walls to a cool matte turquoise, thanks to Contact Brand Temporary Paint for apartments and dorms (Amazon). We loved the way the paper can be removed with minimal effort and changed out. Please note draw templates before cutting and save an entire afternoon for the "fun". The metal magnetic board provides vertical storage and the magnetic spice jars store nicel on the stove hood! ($1.50 ea Container Store) The bamboo cutting board replaced the fugly metal folding stove cover. This gave us more counter space, a cooler aesthetic and at $17 from IKEA did not break the bank! Dinette & Living room was embellished with corrugated metal letters with her name and brightly colored vintage looking runner (8 x24") and foyer rug (2x3) to add pops of color. The collapsible storage ottoman ( $29 Container Store) holds home deco elements easily and doubles as a footstool and extra seating! It was covered with a Target runner and a 1/4 yard of fabric which is held by velcro strips for easy removal and change. The table runner is actually a handmade cloth braided rug from World Market ($16), White plastic, virtually unbreakable lamp from Ikea adds some additional soft lighting.

The Living Room got splashy colorful pillow and the lower couch cushion was given a homemade slipcover of soft fabric in taupe. An acrylic shelf ($10 Container Store) was added to bring in some personal touches, photos and little purchases along the way! A second white shelf ($4 Ikea) was added below the TV to serve as a media and charging station. A felt letter board was also added to bring a a message to those who entered this tiny houses on wheels. The bedroom was adorned with these gypsy dream catcher which hang on each side of the bed that is covered in a handmade quilt from India ( $79 Etsy) and cheerful pillows were curated to add a finishing touch along with handmade matching curtain ties.
